Railways

Heinen Electrotech began working with the railways at the end of the 1960s. By the early 1980s, the national rail company (SNCB) was our largest customer in the field.

Our main market at the time was in aluminium signalling cabinets.

Together with Cableworks, another Heinen Group company, we handle all electrical work for the railways, both on traditional lines and on new, high-speed ones. This includes medium- and low-voltage, power generation and signalling.

In terms of control and monitoring technology, we install devices in the tracks and provide full signal assembly and the installation and connection of shelters.

We call on Cableworks teams for the installation of cables, pipes and tubing trays. They are fully equipped, trained and experienced.

Our specialists splice using special welders and take bi-directional optical measurements using OTDR

In the power generation field, we provide full sub-station installation with direct current and medium-voltage power.

Heinen Electrotech also manufactures low-voltage panels which conform to the specific standards and requirements of the railway industry. This is the case, for example, for 1kV distribution, lighting, heating and power generation (ECFM) and automation and control panels.
