History

Heinen was established in 1951 and currently employs 120 people. The private company is now managed by the third generation of the family. Marc, Patricia and Danny Imetsberger intend to maintain the company’s independence and to continue its history of innovation.

2014

Highest class (8) categories P1 and P2 public works approval certificates obtained.

2013

Installation of electrical facilities at two large schools in Eupen and at the German-speaking Community’s new Parliament.

2007

Marc, Patricia and Danny Imetsberger, the third generation of the family, take over company management.

2007

The business expands to photovoltaics with the installation of a 10kW unit on the workshop roof.

2001

Completion of the TGV L2 Liège-Louvain line (electrotechnical equipment and 20,000 optical fibre welds).

1999

ISO 9001 and VCA*** certification.

First work with fibre optics.

1989

The founder retires. The company is taken over by the second generation: Brigitte and Tony Imetsberger-Heinen.

1982

The company is restructured and the number of employees decreases from 220 to 80. After restructuring the business activities are redirected primarily to industrial installations, medium-voltage and mass-market retailing stores.

1976

The company reaches 8,000 station and 12,000 control cabinet deliveries. The production area is now 20,000 m².

1967

The first mass-market retailers open.

1966

Electricity distributors gain market access. The company’s research department is created.

1963

First order for the Belgian national railways.

Development of the first outdoor aluminium transformer station.

1959

The business is expanded to metal construction. The first control cabinets are built.

The company is founded by Aloys Heinen.
